Improving Warehouse Safety and Traceability at Factory Scale
Royal Canin’s Cambrai factory runs 24/7 and produces nearly 2,000 pallets of dry pet food every day for markets around the world.
At this scale, keeping loading areas clear, safe and efficient was a major operational challenge. Labels were scanned manually by warehouse operators, which created safety risks, slowed down movement and allowed pallets to stack up in busy loading zones.
The customer story shows how Zebra technology and WIIO integrations helped Royal Canin automate the dock door scanning process.
Zebra FS40 fixed industrial scanners automatically read pallet labels, while ET60 tablets provide real-time tracking. WIIO’s integration connects the collected data with the warehouse management system, creating a seamless flow of information.
The dock door now works as a final checkpoint before each pallet leaves the plant. Forklift drivers can move through the loading area without crossing pedestrians or stopping for manual scans.
The result is better traffic flow, improved traceability and a much safer working environment. Royal Canin reports a read rate close to 100% and a return on investment in three months.
The film presents the solution as a practical example of how factory digitisation can improve both safety and operational efficiency.
