Spotlight on Microsoft’s Client: A Digital Transformation Tale Featured on Microsoft's Webpage
Bringing Digital Public Services Closer to Citizens
The Maldives is spread across 800 kilometers, with more than 1,200 islands and many remote communities. For citizens, even basic public services often required travelling to Malé by sea, regardless of weather conditions.
This customer story shows how Microsoft technologies helped the Maldives government make public services more accessible, connected and resilient.
Microsoft 365 brought civil servants, island councils, the judiciary, executive bodies and parliament onto a shared digital platform. Teams helped government agencies communicate, organize meetings, share documents and continue working from wherever they were.
The video also highlights the role of Microsoft technologies during the pandemic, when emergency meetings, parliament sessions, court hearings and public services had to continue despite physical restrictions.
The story presents digital transformation not as a technical upgrade, but as a way to bring people and government closer together — across islands, agencies and communities.
