Coca-Cola Beverages Africa × Microsoft
Articulating a Digital Transformation Story
Client: Microsoft
End User: Coca-Cola Beverages Africa
Objective
To create a narratively clear and visually engaging case study about Coca-Cola Beverages Africa’s digital transformation with Microsoft.
The video needed to highlight how Microsoft’s solutions helped CCBA build a more connected digital working environment, improve operational efficiency and significantly reduce IT costs.
Online Production Methodology
The entire production process was completed online, without physical filming or international travel.
The video was built using a combination of remote interviews, custom graphics, stock footage, and materials provided by CCBA and Microsoft.
Advantages of the Methodology
The online format made it possible to involve participants from different locations without geographical limitations.
It also reduced production costs by avoiding travel and on-site filming expenses, making it a more budget-friendly alternative to a traditional production model.
Limitations of the Methodology
Working with different types of source material can make it more difficult to maintain a fully consistent visual style.
The production also depends heavily on available footage, which can limit the ability to create specific scripted scenes or visual moments.
Outcome
The final video presents CCBA’s transition into a more digitally connected organisation, supported by Microsoft’s suite of solutions.
The story highlights a reduction in IT costs from 2.85% to under 1.4% of net sales revenue, as well as improvements in customer and employee experience.
Despite the limitations of the online production approach, the video communicates a clear business transformation story: how technology and operational restructuring helped a large, complex enterprise become more efficient and connected.
The project was produced in collaboration with the W4U agency.
